Here Be Books

Comments

I just started using paperback swap about a month ago. I like it a lot for getting rid of books I know I won't read again and for getting books that may be out of print. You can swap hardcover books there, but just know that you pay postage to send your book out. You get one book credit for each book you send, so you don't have to pay for books to be sent to you. If the idea for you is to reduce how many books you have, it may not be the best site (since you would be paying to get rid of books, and not using book credits that you earn).
[this is good]
There are several places online to get rid of books to nice people. Do a little checking and you'll find one that fits your needs.
I give mine to the local library and they put any good ones on the shelves and any that are a bit old they put up for sale and use the money to buy more books. I hate getting rid of books as well. I usually box them up and store them in the garage for a few years just to be sure I'm not going to suddenly want them back.
I feel your pain. My book shelves are full and I cant get rid of any of them. What is worse is I keep buying more!! My boyfriend and I are talking about getting an e-reader of some sort to keep book cost and book space down...sigh...
Try amazon. That's where my are going. If you stick with the high-value ones, you should make a tidy profit. I wouldn't bother with eBay for books, though.

Hospitals are another place - I always need a book when I am there!
